Chris Mhike is a human rights advocate, specialising in media law, constitutional jurisprudence and digital rights. He practices law in partnership with Atherstone & Cook Legal Practitioners in Harare. Stemming from his extensive experience in press freedom, free speech, and communication law, Chris has represented and advised numerous journalists, media houses, and human rights defenders (HRDs) locally, regionally, and internationally. Chris is a member of the Law Society of Zimbabwe (LSZ), Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR), the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA)’s Media Lawyers’ Network, and the Voluntary Media Council of Zimbabwe (VMCZ). In addition to his membership on the ZLHR Board, he also sits on the Boards of the Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace (CCJP) Harare Chapter and of the Gwebi Agricultural College (CAG) – Nyabira.

Rudo Magundani is a partner at Scanlen & Holderness Legal Practitioners. Rudo graduated from the University of Zimbabwe in 2010 with a University Book Prize and the Law Society of Zimbabwe Book Prize for her outstanding academic achievements. In June 2012, she was awarded the Cambridge-Commonwealth Shared Scholarship to read for a Master in Law with the University of Cambridge (UK) where she specialised in international law. She is a human rights expert having worked in this field since 2008. She worked for the Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum between 2008-2012. In 2014, Rudo joined Scanlen & Holderness as an Associate and was admitted to partnership in January 2019.

Bellinda Chinowawa is a seasoned human rights lawyer with over 16 years of experience championing human rights, gender equality, and democratic governance. She has led initiatives across local civil society and  international development organizations advancing justice sector reform, civic space, and citizen participation. Bellinda holds advanced law degrees from the University of Oxford and Columbia Law School and is widely recognised for her leadership in strengthening rightsbased governance and expanding access to justice. Her career reflects a consistent commitment to building inclusive institutions and empowering communities to claim and defend their rights.

Godfrey Nyoni is a Senior Partner at Moyo and Nyoni Legal Practitioners. He holds a Bachelor of Laws Honours degree from the University of Zimbabwe. Currently, he is a trustee of the Law Society of Zimbabwe’s Compensation Fund and has previously served as a Councillor of the Law Society of Zimbabwe. Godfrey also serves as a director on various boards.
