ZLHR is a membership organisation consisting of over 160 legal practitioners and law students drawn from around Zimbabwe. Membership is steadily increasing. ZLHR is non-partisan and its main objective is to foster a culture of human rights in Zimbabwe and encourage the growth and strengthening of such rights at all levels of Zimbabwean society. ZLHR seeks also to protect the constitutional rights of all individuals in Zimbabwe and advocates for the adherence to the rule of law and respect for the dignity of the courts of Zimbabwe and all their officers. ZLHR uses its members and the secretariat in all its programming work. It also coordinates its members to provide technical assistance to network organisations in network programming activities. It is therefore a vital organisation in virtually all aspects of human rights programming in Zimbabwe.
